Havana 1920, located at 548 5th Ave., will celebrate National Cuban Sandwich Day by donating a portion of the proceeds from all sales of its award-winning sandwich to local non-profit, San Diego for Puerto Rico, on Thursday, August 23.
Named one of the city’s top sandwiches by San Diego Magazine, the Cubano is made with slices of slow-roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard, sandwiched between slices of authentic Cuban bread that is flown in from Tampa, Fla. San Diego for Puerto Rico (SD4PR) is a local grass roots organization that provides direct assistance to families in Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria.
