The new daily lineup of food and drink specials at Monkey King, located at 467 5th Ave. in the Gaslamp Quarter, are more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The daily specials, available Sunday through Thursday, include all-day happy hours, half-priced dishes, cocktails and more.

Sundays will bring Sunday Funday with half-priced appetizers and select beers. A sampling of appetizer selections includes: Vietnamese spring rolls with pork, shrimp and nuoc cham; wok-charred edamame topped with orange zest, Szechuan salt and chili; and pot stickers filled with choice of ginger chicken or vegetables; among others. Beers available for half price include draft pours of Kona Hanalei and Kirin.

Happy Hour will be extended throughout the day on Mondays, offering happy hour prices on select appetizers, beer and cocktails. Among the cocktails are Salt Collins, made with salted plum-infused rum, fresh lemon juice and Demerara; the Jungle Bird, a combination of hibiscus-infused rum, Campari, pineapple juice, lime juice and Demerara; and more.

Monkey King will give “Taco Tuesday” a far east twist with – How Bao Dat? Orders of the Vietnamese tacos – made with braised beef, carrots, daikon radish, cilantro and eel sauce folded inside of steamed sticky buns – will be half price. Specialty cocktails, too, will be half off, including the Lao-Lao Mule, made with Old Forester bourbon, ginger, lime, mint, tamarind and R&D aromatic #7 bitters; the Monkey King Mai Tai, with Bacardi Añejo Cuatro, toasted cashew orgeat, lime, dry curaçao, R&D house bitters; and more.

As part of the new Bone-In Wednesdays, Monkey King will offer half price orange wings, made with a choice of chicken or duck; hoisin BBQ ribs; and Korean sliced short ribs; as well as half off select beers.

Monkey King rolls out Sake and Sushi Thursdays, featuring half off sushi, sake and punch bowls. The offerings include the M.K. Roll, made with spicy tuna, crab, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo and eel sauce all lightly flash fried in tempura batter; glasses and bottles of sake, including Glorious Mt. Fuji, Kasumi and more; and half off Monkey King’s signature punch bowls, which serve eight people and come in a variety of options, including the Rikky Tikki Tavi, made with Ketel One, Thai basil, lemongrass and lime; the Singapore Sling, made with Azuñia Blanco tequila, lime, benedictine, pineapple, cherry, R&D house bitters; and more.
